It is time to decide whether the Scriptures of the three monotheistic religions born in the Middle East narrate valid history. Minimalists often dismiss Scripture in favor of secular source guides; resultantly, those who study ancient history suffer from the lack of truth and errant dates. A valuable historic timeline exists in Scripture! For centuries, many Bible translations relied on pieces of that timeline; but it suddenly disappeared from the spotlight. Achad-Ankh-Quest has revived Scripture's timeline, confirming its validity through a compilation of historic data found from secular sources. The unnamed Pharaohs of Scripture receive names and dates; their political atmospheres correspond to Scripture's narratives. Some archaeologists have searched for evidence confirming the dates of such things as the Exodus, to no avail. Only through Scripture's timeline does ancient history become clearer. Achad-Ankh-Quest will serve as a valuable resource for most anyone-layperson or scholar-if believed and utilized. Artist, Photographer, and Poet: Lia D is a true Renaissance woman. Her self-taught knowledge consists of numerous subjects, including Theology and Egyptology. Her eclectic work includes poetry anthologies, editorial pieces for local newspapers, and newspapers articles featuring her illustrations. Lia illustrated church newsletters, culminating in a stained-glass window arrangement glorifying Jesus Christ. Yet she believes, "God designs every good thing." Loving Scripture, photography, travel, and research, Lia ventured to the Holy Land many times. Lia or "Bringer of Good News" strongly encourages historians to reexamine the established history of ancient Egypt based on her decades of extensive research.

A historical novel about the most unlikely of lovers, interwoven with the mysticism of the Jewish occult. Frances Sherwood brings to life the experience of the Jewish community during a period of oppression and rebirth. Set in seventeenth-century Prague, The Book of Splendor is an adventure-filled romance stocked with court intrigue and political tension, including the machinations of the rival Ottoman Empire, the religious controversies of Protestantism, and the constant threat of violence to the Jewish community. At the heart of the novel is Rochel, a bastard seamstress who escapes poverty through an arranged marriage to the tailor Zev, but falls in love with Yossel, the Golem created by Rabbi Loew to protect the Jewish community. Meanwhile, Emperor Rudolph II puts the safety of all Prague at risk in his mad bid for an elixir of immortality. The Book of Splendor is an epic tale reminiscent of Anita Diamant's The Red Tent, and a love story as unlikely as Tracy Chevalier's Girl with a Pearl Earring. Reading group guide included.

Was PG Wodehouse really a traitor, a naive simpleton dominated by his wife and out of touch with the world around him? This book challenges many of the accepted wisdoms about PG Wodehouse and his work and skilfully entwines details of Wodehouse's life with an analysis of his work to show that, contrary to popular belief, many of the scenarios, characters and issues he wrote about came from his own, sometimes bitter, personal experience. It shows, for instance, how Bertie Wooster is a much misunderstood figure in literature and shared many of the characteristics and life story of PG Wodehouse himself. Easdale also gives fresh insight into PG Wodehouse's alleged ‘treachery’ during World War II and his motives for making five radio broadcasts from Germany which were to cast a shadow over the rest of his life. ‘Easdale often finds an original angle with which to shatter stale, accepted perception... this book is compelling.’ (Country Life). ‘This fascinating examination offers a refreshing and accessible study of Wodehouse’s work.’ (Press Association).

The Bostonians Unabridged Author Henry James

This carefully crafted ebook: “The Bostonians (Unabridged)” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. The Bostonians is a novel by Henry James. This bittersweet tragicomedy centers on an odd triangle of characters: Basil Ransom, a political conservative from Mississippi; Olive Chancellor, Ransom's cousin and a Boston feminist; and Verena Tarrant, a pretty, young protégée of Olive's in the feminist movement. The storyline concerns the struggle between Ransom and Olive for Verena's allegiance and affection, though the novel also includes a wide panorama of political activists, newspaper people, and quirky eccentrics. Unlike much of James' work, The Bostonians deals with explicitly political themes: feminism and the general role of women in society. James was at best ambivalent about the feminist movement, and the early chapters harshly satirize Olive and her fellow ideologues. Another theme in the book, much discussed recently, is Olive's possible lesbian attraction to Verena. (The term Boston marriage, apparently first used here by James, came to connote just such an ambiguous co-habiting long-term relationship between two women.) James is not explicit here, partially due to the conventions of the time. But this vagueness may actually enrich the novel because it creates possible ambiguity about Olive's motives. Henry James (1843 – 1916) was an American-British writer who spent most of his writing career in Britain. He is regarded as one of the key figures of 19th-century literary realism.
